    This type of camera can record up to 20,000 frames per second while keeping the resolution intact. While this might seem like a great thing, these high speeds also comes at high costs. These kinds of cameras are typically used by upscale high end companies wishing to capture fast moving images. They have a very high sensitivity for florescence and on board systems that allow for automatic testing.

  3. Phantom Cameras
    These are great quality high speed, super slow motion cameras that can capture images up to 22,000 frames for second at 1280 x 800 resolution. It can even capture up to a million frames per second if the resolution is small; somewhere around 128 x 32 resolution. However, these cameras can easily go for $100,000 so it’s definitely not the type of camera that you would buy for a personal hobby.

As you can see, the real difference between high speed cameras comes in how many frames per second the particular camera is able to catch while maintaining high resolution.
